This is the oldest school in Japan for common folk and has been designated as the first Japan Heritage. This is only school architecture designated as a National Treasure in Japan. Most buildings are Important Cultural Properties of Japan. Illuminated autumn leaves (for limited time) are beautiful.

This is a Zen temple where the painter Sesshu, the most prominent Japanese master of ink wash painting, was trained in his childhood.
