2Old Shizutani School

This is the oldest school in Japan for common folk and has been designated as the first Japan Heritage. This is only school architecture designated as a National Treasure in Japan. This is a Zen temple where the painter Sesshu, the most prominent Japanese master of ink wash painting, was trained in his childhood. The rotenburo (outdoor bath), "Sunayu," surrounded by seasonal nature is located directly below the dam, and onsen is springing out from the river bed. The bath is for mixed bathing and available for 24 hours without charge.
