Sightseeing Safely: how restaurants in Okayama are preventing the spread of COVID-19
We’d like to introduce some infection prevention measures being conducted by tourist facilities in Okayama, so that sightseers can enjoy their time in the prefecture with peace of mind.
Working to prevent the spread of COVID-19
Miyashita has on its homepage a list of preventative measures it has undertaken, as well as requests for customers visiting the premises.

We visited the Miyashita Sake Brewery and their flagship restaurant, Shusei-no-Kagayaki. Miyashita is known for brewing Japanese sake and shochu, beer, liqueur, spirits and whiskey. You can enjoy it all at Shusei-no-Kagayaki, all while enjoying the sights of the whiskey pots and stills at the next-door Okayama Distillery.
The restaurant’s menu fits perfectly with sake or beer, of course, and many of its items also incorporate alcohol brewed at Miyashita. You can purchase Miyashita goods at the gift shop on the premises.

At the entrance, you can find disinfectant spray. Let's disinfect our hands before going in.
Miyashita suggests that patrons enroll in Okayama’s COVID-19 personal support system, “Moshi Sapo Okayama.” In the event that a patron at a given store or facility has been confirmed to have contracted COVID-19, an announcement will be sent out to other Moshi Sapo users who visited the same store/facility around the same time.
The temperature-measuring system at the entrance hall. Simply by showing your face to the screen, the system can check your body temperature, as well as whether or not you are wearing a mask.

The tables have been spaced apart to give plenty of distance, and between each one is a panel to prevent droplet infection.
Naturally, the restaurant conducts periodic ventilation and cleaning, as well as thorough sterilization.
The staff working the register disinfect their hands with each transaction, and all exchanges of payment and change are done using a cash tray.

The facility asks patrons to wear a mask when not eating, come in small groups and only for a short period of time, and refrain from talking loudly and sharing drinks.
The staff at Miyashita are working hard to prevent the spread of COVID-19 through daily temperature checks, wearning masks, and washing and disinfecting their hands thoroughly, so that customers can come and enjoy their time with a smile.
