collaboration with Okayama Prefectural University in order to help them acquire
the knowledge of tour guide for foreign tourists in English and spread the charm of sightseeing spots from the young people’s perspective.

Former Shizutani School

"Former Shizutani School
It is the oldest extant school for common people.
It was built to train local leaders in 1706.
It is said that education in the school was the driving force for modernization.
Even today tourists can experience lecture of Analects.

Mount Washu

Shimotsui is located along the Seto Inland Sea. During the Edo period (1603-1867), it prospered as a relay trading port for cotton and nishiki-kasu. It also prospered as an inn for people traveling to famous shrines in Kagawa Prefecture. Today, the atmosphere of the old port town still remains.
