A strawberry picking farm with easy access

Kamome Farm picking begins in early January at Kamome Farm, a strawberry picking farm in Minami Ward, Okayama City . It's easily accessible by car, about 30 minutes from JR Okayama Station, and the parking lot is large, making it very easy to get to. We checked the farm map in the parking lot and headed to reception. The chalk art on the map was cute and impressive. Chalk art is displayed throughout the farm.
A total of 20 greenhouses

The strawberry varieties grown at Kamome Farm are "Haruichigo," "Yume no Ka," "Akihime," "Kaorino," "Yotsuboshi," and "Suzu," and the greenhouses are divided according to the strawberry variety. There were an impressive 20 greenhouses!
50-minute strawberry picking begins

After checking in and watching an explanatory video about strawberry picking, it's time to start picking! The time limit is 50 minutes, and you start once you enter the greenhouse. On this day, the coldest wave of the season has hit, but inside the greenhouse it's warm like spring, so you don't even need a coat. There's no place to put your luggage, so we recommend leaving any unnecessary belongings in your car. There are sheets on the floor so your shoes won't get dirty.
Easily harvested with elevated cultivation

On this day, we visited the "Yume no Ka" greenhouse. The strawberries are grown in elevated beds, about waist-high above the ground, making strawberry picking very easy. There were lots of large, delicious-looking strawberries. As we were taking photos, a bee flew over. It was doing its job of pollinating the strawberries inside the greenhouse.
The best way to pick them is explained in the video.

Children are able to pick strawberries well after watching an instruction video before entering the greenhouse. The key is to pinch the stem at the end of the stem between your middle and index fingers and use your wrist to snap it towards you. The stem snaps easily with your hands, allowing you to pick the strawberry. Be careful not to pull it, as this can damage the plant! There are many large strawberries, and when you look closely, you'll be surprised at how large the strawberry flowers are as well. I think this is because the staff members are picking off the small buds and caring for them every day so that the strawberries will grow big and delicious.
Take-out only is fine

These are freshly picked "Yume no Ka" strawberries. They were very juicy and satisfying to eat. They have a rich sweetness and just the right amount of acidity, and the skin is firm and keeps well, making them perfect as gifts. You can also just take home the strawberries you picked (the price is calculated by weight)!

Collaboration products with local cake shops

The sables sold at the farm are a collaboration with Art Brut, a popular cake shop with a store in Kita Ward , Okayama City . Topped with icing, they are satisfyingly delicious.
There are also strawberry-themed goods available.

They also have cute strawberry-themed goods!
There are also photo spots!

There is also a photo spot next to the monitor where an explanatory video about strawberry picking is playing. Some customers were taking photos while enjoying a cafe on the terrace with their dogs.
Kamome Strawberry Parfait ~2025 version~

A parfait made with an abundance of strawberries, something you'd only get at a strawberry farm! Strawberries so thick they look like they might fall off are topped with ice cream choux and gelato. Shaved strawberries are placed underneath the strawberries, and as you move from the top, which is sweet and sour and cool, to the bottom, you'll find cookies, jelly, snowball cookies, granola, wafers, strawberry sauce and more, all packed together with the strawberries. The fresh cream is refreshing and the amount is just right, so I was able to enjoy eating it all. The snowball cookies are also a collaboration with "Art Brut", and the texture that crumbles in your mouth is addictively delicious!
Freshly picked strawberry pizza

The thin pizza crust is topped with custard and apple crust, and plenty of freshly picked strawberries. There's a huge amount of strawberries, so I was full! It was delicious.
Strawberry cream puffs

The strawberry cream puffs are filled with 5-6 strawberries. The chewy cookie puffs are "Art Brut" cookie puffs, and they were fragrant and delicious even after a while (we couldn't finish them during our visit, so we took some home). Between the cookie puffs, there's rich custard cream and fresh cream, and the tart strawberries all blend together in a wonderful way! The cream puffs are only available on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

After enjoying a variety of sweets in this warm and cozy cafe, I also enjoyed a cup of coffee after the meal. The coffee was delicious and went perfectly with the strawberry desserts. I highly recommend it!
