Tokumori Shrine

Japan, 708-0047 5 Miyawakicho, Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture

This shrine is said to have been founded in 733 during the reign of Emperor Shomu. It was originally located in what is now Odanaka, Tsuyama City, but in 1539 a fire destroyed the shrine and all its treasures. In the 8th year of Keicho (1603), Tadamasa Mori (younger brother of Ranmaru Mori), who entered the Mimasaka Province as a feudal lord with 186,500 koku of land, built Tsuyama Castle. I decided to protect it.
