Earning the top spot for production volume in Japan, Okayama is home to many varieties of grapes including the elegantly fragrant and refreshingly flavorful Muscat of Alexandria, the new variety of Shine Muscat that can be eaten skin and all, and Pione grapes with a rich sweetness. Visitors can pick grapes every year at Tomomien Fruit Farm, Kubo Fruit Farm, and Mimasaka Farm. A variety of options is available, including limited time all-you-can-eat plans and plans that allow visitors to take the grapes they pick home as souvenirs. (Reservation is required.)
