Kurashiki international Hotel

A hotel that carries on the culture and traditions of Kurashiki A hotel adjacent to the Ohara Museum of Art. Designed to blend Japanese and Western styles to harmonize with Kurashiki's traditional streetscape, the building is also a five-story structure, with its limited number of floors to avoid direct visibility from the Bikan Historical Quarter, demonstrating careful consideration for the surrounding landscape. The world's largest woodblock print*, created by world-renowned master Shiko Munakata, is displayed in the atrium and can be viewed from the first-floor lobby and the rest areas on the second and third floors. *Munakata uses the characters "板画" (ita-ga) instead of "版画" (han-ga). This is because he believes that the inherent properties of the wood must be treated with care, and that the soul of the wood must be directly expressed, so he chose to use the character "板" (ita) to represent listening to the voice of the wood.
