Michino-eki Sanyo-do Yakage-shuku Roadside Stop

Construction supervised by Industrail Designer Mr. Eiji Mitooka
“The roadside stop “Yakage-shuku” is located at the post-station town Yakage on the former Sanyo Expressway, now national highway 486. The roadside stop constructed under the supervision of Industrial Designer Mr. Eiji Mitooka from Okayama, who designed the train “Yume Yasuragi” for Ibara Railway, Kyushu Shinkansen “Tsubame” and the luxurious sleeper train “Nanatsu-boshi in Kyushu”.
This roadside stop is unique in design with positioning the adjoining shopping street to serve as its restaurant and shop, therefore no restaurants or shops inside the building. On the 1st floor, there is a space promoting sightseeing spots and products of Yakage town. On the 2nd floor, kid’s room with ball pool and children’s books and a space introducing the works of Mr, Mitooka. The building has wrap-around deck.
