A warm climate, often referred to as the "Land of Sunshine"
Okayama Prefecture is known as "Okayama, the Land of Sunshine" because it has low rainfall throughout the year and many sunny days.
Blessed with a relatively mild climate, it is characterized by its pleasant environment for sightseeing throughout all four seasons.
In spring you can enjoy cherry blossoms, in summer you can go fruit picking or island hopping in the Seto Inland Sea, in autumn you can enjoy the autumn foliage, and in winter you can enjoy snowscapes and hot springs in the northern part of the prefecture.
The average annual temperature is about 15°C, and the annual rainfall is about 1,100 to 1,300 mm, making it a relatively dry region compared to other parts of Japan.
Because it can be enjoyed regardless of the travel season, it is popular with international travelers.

Spring (March to May) sees average temperatures rising to around 9-19°C, making it the perfect season to enjoy cherry blossoms and fresh greenery. Summer (June to August) sees average high temperatures of around 26-32°C, bringing seasonal fruits like White Peach and grapes to their peak. Although there is a rainy season, the Seto Inland Sea coastal areas experience relatively little rain and many sunny days.
Autumn (September to November) sees temperatures gradually drop, with average temperatures ranging from 12 to 24°C. This is a popular season for enjoying autumn foliage, nature walks, and hot spring trips in pleasant weather. Winter (December to February) sees average temperatures of around 4 to 7°C in the southern part of the prefecture, with little heavy snowfall, making it a comfortable time for sightseeing. On the other hand, some areas in the northern part of the prefecture experience snow accumulation, allowing visitors to enjoy snowy landscapes and unique winter hot spring experiences.
