Speaking of capsule toys, they are now enjoyed by a wide range of people, from young people to children and adults!

2024.12.03

With the aim of spreading the appeal of Okayama Prefecture through these capsule toys and attracting new fans, the Okayama Prefecture Tourism Federation, a public interest incorporated association, and Town Information Okayama have collaborated to develop local capsule toys.

The event is called "Okayama New Discovery! GACHA."

Sales will begin on Wednesday, November 27th at three stores in Okayama Prefecture.

There are seven different capsule contents. We will introduce the lineup.

The unique "various things" of Okayama are now available as acrylic keychains!

The acrylic key chains (7 types in total) feature motifs of things loved by local Okayama residents and things that people outside the prefecture would like to know about, and cost 400 yen each.

In addition to the main motif, the acrylic key chain is a double-chain design that includes a peach-shaped charm featuring the logo.

Not only can you enjoy it for yourself, but it is also recommended as a souvenir or gift as it is only sold in Okayama Prefecture.

Momotaro Manhole

As you'd expect in Okayama, even the manholes feature Momotaro! The cute manholes depicting the big-eyed Momotaro and his companions were actually designed by an employee of Okayama City.

Cat Castle Lord Sanjuro

Sanjuro is a male cat who was rescued from Bitchu Matsuyama Castle after the heavy rains in Western Japan in July 2018. His name comes from Tani Sanjuro, a samurai from the Bitchu Matsuyama domain who became a commander of the Shinsengumi. He is cute and friendly, making him the "cat castle lord" beloved by tourists.

Peach Boat

A peach-shaped boat allows you to take a Mizukami stroll on the Asahikawa that flows between Okayama Korakuen Garden and Okayama Castle . Riding the "peach boat" makes you feel like Momotaro, and it's extremely popular.

Gon-chan

Tsuyama chan, the mascot of the Tsuyama Gongo Festival, loves dancing and fireworks and has a cheerful personality. In the Tsuyama area, which has a long history of kappa legends, kappas are affectionately called "Gongo."

Fried oysters with soft serve

This unique sweet is topped with plump and juicy fried oysters from Hinase and served with sashimi soy sauce. You can enjoy it at Gomi no Ichi, a fish market lined with freshly caught seafood.

Yellow chives

Yellow chives are said to have originated in Okayama Prefecture, and account for approximately 70% of the country's production. They are one of Okayama 's most representative agricultural products. Their elegant fragrance and sweetness make them delicious when boiled or prepared in bara sushi.

Retirement

Suinkyo are young men wearing masks of an old man and an old woman who appear at the annual festival of Achi Shrine in Kurashiki City . The masks have a long history, apparently dating back to the mid-Edo period. The pickled radish-like masks are a little creepy, but somehow they seem addictive!
